Ready for anything, prepared for everything and surprised by nothing. This defines a special classification of professionals known as Emergency Department nurses. ER nurses provided highly skilled nursing care to patients of all ages requiring stabilization and/or resuscitation for a variety of illness or injury. ER nurses are also involved in situations such as emergency preparedness, infectious diseases, bioterrorism, and disasters. These professionals may carry special certifications such as sexual assault examiner, advance life support, pediatric life support or trauma nurse. Emergency Department nurses strive for the best results, but there are times when tragedy occurs like the sudden unexpected death of a child. Not only are these nurses dealing with the loss of a child but with the grief of the family. The nurses on staff at the ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital maintain high standards of care for all patients seeking treatment in our Emergency Department.
