MRI TECHNOLOGIST - Coldwater MI
Provides patient services utilizing MR imaging and ancillary equipment. Performs radiographic procedures as needed.
Applies the principles of radiation and safety protection for patients, self and others. Performs image reconstructions on workstations as indicated by protocol and/or radiologist request. Evaluates MR images for technical quality and makes necessary adjustments to insure image quality for interpretation. Provides patient care essential to MR and radiographic procedures. Recognizes and responds to patient needs. Completes pre and post procedure patient assessment according to protocols. Recognizes patient conditions requiring immediate action and initiates support measures until the appropriate response team arrives.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE; CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE: ARRT (R) (MR) with previous MR experience required
Must have and maintain current certification in American Heart Association basic life support at the health care provider level.
Must be knowledgeable regarding all aspects of patient screening and patient safety and, if unsure, where to obtain further information regarding this area.
Must have knowledge of and comply with MR Safe Practice Guidelines as established by the ACR and all department specific MR Safety policies.
SPECIAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients. Manual dexterity needed for handling reports, charts, instruments, and other equipment. Talking and hearing essential in instructing patients, and in receiving doctor's orders and patient's requests. Near visual acuity required working with charts and records and observing patients.
Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Requires lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds; bending; stooping; pushing, and pulling.
