CT / Radiology Tech - Coldwater MI
Provides patient services utilizing CT imaging and ancillary equipment. Performs radiographic procedures.
Applies the principles of radiation protection for patients, self and others. Performs image reconstructions on workstations as indicated by protocol and/or radiologist request. Evaluates CT images for technical quality and makes necessary adjustments to insure image quality for interpretation. Provides patient care essential to CT and radiographic procedures. Recognizes and responds to patient needs. Completes pre and post procedure patient assessment according to protocols. Recognizes patient conditions requiring immediate action and initiates support measures until the appropriate response team arrives.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE; CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE:
Graduate of an accredited School of Radiography, or equivalent (accredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation - CAHEA) meeting one of the following criteria:
Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and certified in Radiography (R) and Computed Tomography (CT),
RT (ARRT) (R) and seeking eligibility for the CT credential
Graduate Technologist of a CAHEA program pursuing eligibility in Radiography and/or CT
If registration by the ARRT is not achieved in a specified period of time, continued employment as a CT technologist may be terminated
SPECIAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients. Manual dexterity needed for handling reports, charts, instruments, and other equipment. Talking and hearing essential in instructing patients, and in receiving doctor's orders and patient's requests. Near visual acuity required working with charts and records and observing patients. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Requires lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds; bending; stooping; pushing, and pulling. Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.
The successful candidate will demonstate competencies for this position.
